About Me (Personal)
Hi there! You can call me Bhargav (I get that my full name is quite a mouthful). I'm from Bengaluru, India. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering and as expected, neither have a major influence on my career choices beyond the decision to do something outside of my specialization. I may be an engineer, but I'm more into finding the right problems and the right people to fix them, rather than focus just on the solutions.
As is common with most Indians, my education and passion don't have much in common. I specialize in consumer empathy, user experience, problem identification and people management. I love technology and the process behind what goes where and why. I am passionate about Interactive Design in products.
I'm also a gamer, with an experience of over 20 years in gaming - from Dangerous Dave all the way to the latest RPG and multiplayer games. To me, videogames are the best blend of user experience and technology to achieve monetary success. They also show you that there is no set framework for success - something that speaks to me personally.
I'm not really a social media person, I got rid of my Facebook, Instagram and other profiles when it turned into a mess of ads, self-promotion and engagement-baiting nonsense. For professional reasons, I still have my LinkedIn to read product breakdowns, business news, checking job openings, skill demands in the industry, and other articles. However, I do enjoy myself some Twitch and YouTube to catch up on some of my favourite games and content.
About Me (Professional)
I completed my B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BMS College of Engineering in Bengaluru and my M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, specializing in Automation and Control.
My work experience has been mostly in startups and small companies, working with small teams in fast-paced environments. My roles thus far include a Hardware R&D Intern, Hardware Engineer, Hardware Product Manager + Manufacturing Lead, and as of now, an Associate Product Manager. I have worked on healthcare products (baby monitors), commercial products (VR Headsets), and industrial products (footfall counting sensors in retail, including analytics dashboards, and customer/partner onboarding).
I also love learning new things and staying up to date with the current trending topics in the world of tech. I have completed multiple certifications and self study courses from Udemy and Coursera on Agile Methodologies, Generative AI, Scrum (PSM-1), Product Management, Project Management (Google-certified), Business Intelligence (Google-certified), and UI/UX fundamentals. My passion is in Interactive Design and User Experience, with a focus on user empathy and customer-centricity. I love interacting with people from different backgrounds and understanding their approach towards innovation and building exciting things. I enjoy working with multi-disciplinary teams and facilitating teamwork by fostering great work relationships and camaraderie.
